Use public trash cans
AND,
at home, use a trash can with a tight fitting lid!
We can’t really be green until we get it clean.
Baltimore is litter challenged. We all know it, we all see it and we each need to do something about it. Picking up just one piece of litter from the street can make a difference. What do I mean? A 16 oz. soda bottle weighs about 1 ounce when it’s empty. If just a small fraction of the people who live in and visit our city – say 32,000 people -- each picked up just one empty bottle from the street and put it in a trash can – they would collect 32,000 bottles or ONE TON of trash that would otherwise end up littering our neighborhoods or our harbor.
You do the math!
Lots of individuals could do something very simple – even just once a day - and make an ENORMOUS difference.
