Baltimore launched Single Stream Recycling One Bin Same Day - January 2008. All items collected in one container. Recycling is an important part of our effort to build a cleaner, greener Baltimore . Now it is easier than ever with SINGLE STREAM RECYCLING. Instead of separating your bottles, cans, jars and paper, you can now place all these items in one container for collection.
Effective January 2009, Baltimore City residents will be able to recycle MORE items. So fill up a recycle bin or two or MORE! Remember, if we all do our part, one person at a time and one home at a time; together as a City we make a difference. Do your best to recycle and not trash the below material. Working together, we can minimize the damaging affects to our natural environment and the amount of energy needed to produce new products (everyday household items) from raw natural materials versus producing new products from recycled material.
Under Mayor Sheila Dixon’s leadership, the Department of Public Works is changing the way you schedule a Community Pitch-in. Effective, November 25, 2008, please call 311 to schedule a Community Pitch-in. This new system allows for better documentation, tracking, accountability, efficiency, reduces use of paper and increases availability to all community groups. Public Works will discontinue mailing request forms.
