Honors for those leading by example
Citizen’s Planning and Housing Association Awards
Two Cleaner Greener Baltimore Community Foundation Sponsored Programs at
2008 Annual Meeting.Ms. Ukwuoma received the Frances Froelicher Civic Statesmanship
Award for her outstanding leadership as the Bureau Head of Solid Waste
for the City of Baltimore.
The Friends of Patterson Park (FPP), Tim
Almaguer, Executive Director, received the Hathaway Ferebee Award for
their important work in cleaning up Patterson Park and keeping it that way.
So, congratulations to both awardees, who are showing all of us how
cooperation, hard work and teaming together can really “Make a
Difference”!

“Operation AWARE Makes No Excuses!”
There are 49 students making a big difference in Patterson Park these days. So, in an attempt find a more sustainable solution the students designed anti-littering posters for 18 recently installed trash cans in the Patterson Park neighborhood. Click here for the full article.
Cleaner Greener Together “IN-ACTION!”
“Mayor Dixon’s Official Fall Clean Up 2008 – Fall Harvest”This
year, a special emphasis was placed on Community Gardens that have been
sustained over extended periods of time by the hard work and dedication of
the community volunteers. And, Mayor Dixon explained how other parcels can
be obtained for future Adopt-A-Lot gardens and Alley Gating Programs.
Over
300 communities and 2000 volunteers dedicated an entire Saturday to clean
and green.
